Abi Palmer Invents the Weather

Unable to reach the outside world during the Covid-19 pandemic, Abi Palmer began a year-long process of performing the outside world for her indoor cats Cha-U-Kao and Lola Lola, translating each season into a cat-accessible format.

Continuing their longterm collaboration, Nick composed the score for Abi Palmer’s series of four short films recreating weather systems to try and explain the outside world to her two cats. APITW was commissioned as part of the World Weather Network by Artangel and screened through Artangel and Tank.tv

The films were exhibited as part of New Contemporaries (Camden Art Centre, 19/01/24 – 14/04/24)

The four films were each accompanied by THE WEATHER: a live talk show held between Palmer and special guests, including J.R. Carpenter, Sop and An(Dre)a Spisto, Gabrielle de la Puente and Nick Murray.
